Aina is a non-governmental, non-political, non-religious and non-profit organization that watches over its moral and financial freedom.
As a humanitarian body, Aina facilitates initiatives in the area of education, information and communication for and with the support of local actors by rallying high-skilled international volunteers and local experts.
Its mission is to foster the democratization process and to take part in the building or rebuilding of civil society in countries where it operates.
Aina's actions are in keeping with women's rights, the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the Declaration of Children's Rights, and the customs of each country where those actions are carried out.
Those projects are intended for populations as a whole without any discrimination whatsoever, including on the basis of gender, religion or origin. Aina is particularly committed to involving women and children in its initiatives.
Aina works in the following areas:
Education
Aina supports the development of media and cultural structures and the production of educational material in a country undergoing reconstruction. By doing so, Aina facilitates education for the local population and the promotion of a spirit of peace and freedom, the very foundation of democracy, by providing cultural learning and media training programs to local actors.
That cross-disciplinary training program is based on new technologies. It is first and foremost intended for women and children.
Information
Aina supports and develops cultural projects and independent local media, all critical tools to rebuild civil society, within places of sharing as well as media and cultural centers.
Communication
Local actor training on new communication technologies is aimed at speeding up the emergence of their own media structures as an integral part of the information and communication society in the 21st century.
Aina helps disseminate a larger number of educational and peace-promoting messages fostering the creation of a civil society by involving local actors in realizing large-scale communication campaigns.
